EXTENDED HOURS TODAY, JULY 1 UNTIL 8 P.M. FOR IN-PERSON PRIMARY ELECTION MAIL-IN BALLOT PROCESSING

County Clerk’s Election Office and Board of Elections open to accept applications and completed ballots in-person

FREEHOLD, NJ –The Monmouth County Clerk’s Election Office and the Monmouth County Board of Elections at 300 Halls Mill Road in Freehold will have extended office hours today, July 1, until 8 p.m., to accept in-person vote by mail applications and completed mail-in ballots for the July 7 Primary Election.

Pursuant to the Governor’s Executive Orders, the July 7 Primary Election is being conducted primarily via Vote by Mail with limited polling locations available on election day for voting on paper provisional ballots, except for disabled voters.

Voters can return their completed Primary Election mail-in ballot to the County Board of Elections via mail, drop box, or in-person by the following deadlines, in order for the ballot to be considered timely and to be canvassed, per the Executive Orders.

If a voter would prefer to deliver his or her completed mail-in ballot in-person, the deadline for the County Board of Elections at 300 Halls Mill Road in Freehold to receive mail-in ballots in-person is 8 p.m. on Primary Election Day, July 7. If delivered in-person, the voter or the bearer must present identification when surrendering the ballot.

If a voter is returning his or her completed mail-in ballot by mail via the United States Postal Service (USPS), the ballot must be postmarked on or before Primary Election Day, July 7, and received by the County Board of Elections by 8 p.m. on July 14.

Voters may also choose to deposit the completed mail-in ballot in one of the five secure drop boxes located in Englishtown, Howell, Neptune, Eatontown, and Hazlet. The deadline for delivering the ballot via drop box is 8 p.m. on Primary Election Day, July 7. Please visit our website at MonmouthCountyVotes.com to view the addresses of the drop box locations.

If any voter has lost or misplaced his or her mail-in ballot, please contact the County Clerk’s Election Office immediately by calling 732-431-7790 or coming to the County Clerk’s Election Office in-person to receive a replacement ballot.

The County Election Offices, located at 300 Halls Mill Road, Freehold Township, NJ 07728, are open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All County Offices, including the County Election Offices, will be closed on Friday, July 3 in observance of Independence Day.
