2018 ‘MY COUNTY’ POSTER CONTEST WINNERS ANNOUNCED
FREEHOLD, NJ – Monmouth County’s Constitutional Officers – County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon, County Sheriff Shaun Golden and County Surrogate Rosemarie D. Peters are pleased to announce the winners of the annual ‘My County’ poster contest.
Since the majority of fourth grade students study the State of New Jersey as part of their social studies curriculum, all County fourth graders were invited to create a poster depicting unique aspects of Monmouth County and how they relate to County Government.
“Each year we look forward to hosting this contest to see the creativity of our County’s fourth grade students,” said Clerk Hanlon.
“We received an overwhelming 116 entries this year and were very impressed by the students’ knowledge of the County and their ability to relay their thoughts artistically,” said Sheriff Golden.
All of the entries were blindly judged by Clerk Hanlon, Sheriff Golden and Surrogate Peters.
“Choosing this year’s winners was especially difficult, as all 116 posters creatively depicted some of Monmouth County’s best features and also exemplified the students’ understanding of the community they live in,” said Surrogate Peters.
