Veterans’ ID Cards

Monmouth County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon, Esq. issues Veterans’ Cards as a way to honor and identify those Monmouth County residents who served our country in active military duty.

These Veterans’ ID Cards give Monmouth County veterans the ability to receive valuable discounts from the local retailers listed in the Veterans’ Discount Spreadsheet. Many establishments offer 10% or more in discounts to veterans who show our Veterans’ ID cards during a transaction.

Note: These cards are not valid to conduct official business or to secure veterans benefits. Instead, they provide identification and eliminate the need to carry valuable military discharge papers when receiving a discount at a local establishment.

Obtaining a Veteran’s ID Card

Cards are issued at the County Clerk’s Freehold Office and the Neptune Monmouth County Connection.

In order to obtain a card, applicants must bring in their NJ Driver’s License and ORIGINAL DD-214 “Report of Separation.” (We cannot use a photocopy of the DD-214, it must be an original. If you have lost your original or it has been damaged, you may obtain a new original by calling 1-866-272-6272 or by going online to the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration for Veterans’ Service Records – click here)

After presenting the necessary documents, applicants will fill out a simple form and have their photograph taken for the ID card.

Note: The Monmouth County Clerk’s Office only issues Veteran’s ID cards to Monmouth County residents. If you live in another county, please see your County Clerk.

Thank you for your service to our great country!
