Volume One of the Plat Book of Monmouth County was published by the Franklin Survey Company of Philadelphia, PA, in 1941.
This Plat Book is a 90-page volume of maps in color. It includes a street index, subdivision index, and a zoning map. The scale is 200’ = 1 inch. The maps are highly detailed. They show paved or unpaved streets, width, sewer lines, water mains and hydrants, and boardwalks. Building structures are noted as frame, stone, cement, stucco, or iron. Number of stories, garages, greenhouses, lot dimensions and acreage, business names, some large property owner’s names, and railroad tracks are identified.
Volume one covers twenty-five towns: Allenhurst, Asbury Park, Avon, Belmar, Bradley Beach, Brielle, Deal, Eatontown, Interlaken, Little Silver, Long Branch, Manasquan, Monmouth Beach, Neptune, Ocean, Red Bank, Rumson, Sea Girt, Shrewsbury, South Belmar, Spring Lake, Spring Lake Heights, West Long Branch, and parts of Wall and Shrewsbury.
This volume is open to researchers.
The original volume may be inspected at Archives during regular research hours, M-F, 9-4.
