Comprehensive Criminal Justice Plan

ABSTRACT
The Division of Criminal Justice Coordination was established in 1976, under the direction of Superior Court Judge Merritt Lane, Jr., and with funds provided by the State Law Enforcement Planning Agency (SLEPA).  The Board of Chosen Freeholders, through a resolution, created a Coordinating Council to provide guidance for the Division, and to be the Criminal Justice Planning Board for Monmouth County.  The collection comprises several bound reports, the bulk of which are Comprehensive Criminal Justice Plans for Monmouth County.  There is also a report regarding the SLEPA Requirements for the Plan.  In addition, there are Appendices to the Plan for 1980-1982.

SCOPE AND CONTENT
The collection comprises Comprehensive Criminal Justice Plans for Monmouth County, SLEPA Requirements for the Plan, and Appendices to the Plan for 1980-1982. The reports are filled with statistics and charts covering great volumes of data for Monmouth County, including population profiles for each municipality, municipal offense data, numbers of police officers per municipality, and various other types of data related to crime, jail capacity, arrests, and more.
